This year's downtown Chicago Guild auditions will take place again & Sherwood School of Music on Monday May 22nd.
Students participating will perform a two to twenty piece program for this year's Guild judge. Performances will included a diversity of music repertoire from all periods of music, plus scales & chord cadences. Students also have the opportunity to be judged on sight reading, transposition, improvisation, ear training and other musical skills. This event is highly recommended for students to have a yearly assessment of their progress from a qualified and friendly judge. Hundreds of students gathered for our Festival events this year! I witnessed over 60 myself in just one room. The students were well prepared and the judges and myself were treated to many fine young performers showing off their skills.
This year's event was even more fun for me as I was able to see several of my students perform and receive well deserved high scores. Congratulations to my students in Room 224, and all the participants! |
